Sepsis is a serious illness caused by the body’s strong reaction to an infection. Instead of just fighting the infection, the body starts to harm its own organs.

It can get worse very quickly and can be life-threatening if not treated fast.
Signs of sepsis may include:

Fever or feeling very cold

Fast heartbeat or breathing

Confusion or extreme tiredness

Pale or blotchy skin
Sepsis is a medical emergency. If you think someone has it, get medical help right away.
What is sepsis?

Sleepy/difficult to rouse

Clammy or sweaty skin
Just ask, could it be sepsis?
